Love This Girl's Room!

I love the bold colors and the artwork... it's inspired, yet still for the girl who loves her animals! What would you change, if anything?

KIDS COLORS 2012...

The Color Association of the United States for Spring/Summer 2012 is above. This season, discussion centered around the youth market following a global sensibility. What's going on in the world is impacting fashion, even for children. The lines between the adult and youth markets are not as defined, with children's wear designs only slightly tweaked for a younger audience.

Top Daddy Blogs {Parenting}

We don't give enough credit to the dads!

So here on this lovely Wednesday morning (it's trash day by the way) ... and after a great Low Country Boil yesterday afternoon, I set my goals on finding some of the hippest, coolest dad blogs out there. Seemingly I didn't think this would be too difficult a task. After starting my research, so many names popped up and I thought this would be a piece of cake... a walk in the park... a no brainer -- you get my drift.

Two days later... and the research and exploration gave me a headache. It was actually more tough than I thought it would be, to find some truly interesting, funny and insightful parenting blogs written by dads. Most are hard on the eyes (and I go for quality and content), but alas, they started coming to me.

Alas, today is the debut day of what I read over the past two days! I think these are some of the cooler & most updated ones I came across. And luckily for me, I remembered some of the more candid, not too commercial blogs from yonder.

In no particular order and in my Ole Miss shout: "Are... You... Readyyyyy?"

All Natural Play Dough... Paint Perhaps?

If you care at all about the quality of toys and crafts that your little one plays with, then you will need to invest in them. At ImagiCompany, founded by an Atlanta professional, Portia Grayson, DDS, they make organic and gluten-free play dough, clay and bath paints that double as finger paints. These all natural crafts are a safe bet among toddlers, and come in primary colors -- red, blue, green and yellow.

If you have the space... Use it!

My next house will definitely accommodate a state-of-the-art, thrilling, uniquely decorated play room... not for me, but for the kid! These rooms encompass all things playful and exciting, not to mention the soft-on-the-eyes... I mean really gorgeous design work. Which is why I say, if you have the space (and money), use it! Check out these rooms I found below.

This room screams cultured, yet gothic and vintage girl! I love it. The straight lines mixed with the circular patterns is a great use and mix of space and art.

Flowing with Declutter

If your house is anything like mine, there is no more room for toys, gadgets, dolls, trains, shoes or clothes. One can only do so much by using toy bins, shelving units or stuffing items into closet organizers before the once cute theme becomes one vast disorganization. The key to decluttering and getting organized lies within finding items that will be functional, but also flow within the theme and colors of a room.

I found these great items that are functional and also has the potential to fit just about any theme of your little one's room. The first two depict a ton of small, inexpensive storage items from Ikea that we can use everyday especially the sliding shelving bins and colorful, yet playful under-the-bed storage bins.

LOVE THIS IDEA

How fun is this room. I love the application of the painted polka dots. You can have so much fun with kids' spaces. Adding the molding is a cool idea that anyone can use. Just think of the possibilities, stripes, florals, you name it. Try this with your next nursery design project and let me know how it works out. What color scheme would you use for a little boy's space?

Welcome to Pink Pastry Parlor

This is the perfect spot to indulge in all things girly. Tiffany Young, the founder, owner and now TLC reality star, envisioned a place where you could come with large groups of girls and have the ultimate play date. The new bakery which has some of the most amazing cupcakes is located in Alpharetta, GA, just outside of Atlanta. My friend Regina and I took our daughters by over the weekend for the grand opening -- we wanted a firsthand look at the new space and to let our girls put it to the test.
